"Doubly happy, however, is the man to whom lofty mountain-tops are within reach."
- John Muir Climbing Picacho is only a two hour commitment (one up, one down), but the sense of accomplishment will last you a much, much longer time. Think about it: when's the last time you climbed the highest of anything? When you summit Picacho you become one of a small club of adventuresome souls who now rule the sky over Roatan. You should be in good health and physical shape. This rather strenuous hike will definitely give your cardiovascular system a good workout. If you are planning on doing this hike, please bring a pair of (old) jeans to wear (there is cutting grass) and proper hiking boots as some of the inclines are rather steep.
