The largest of the Bay Islands of Honduras, Roatan is located approximately 40 miles off the northern coast of Honduras in the Western Caribbean. The island is 30 miles long and, on average, about 5 miles wide. The island is rugged and has several peaks that rise to nearly 1000 feet.
