Energy-Enhancing Crystals
The resort sits atop a huge vein of energy-enhancing quartz crystals. During various construction projects we have come upon big pockets of these crystals and have retrieved chunks of it. A Mayan Shaman explained that one of the reasons people report feeling so good at Paya Bay is a result of the presence of these crystals.
Metaphysical Properties
According to the shaman, quartz enhances energy by absorbing, amplifying, balancing, focusing and transmitting it. This can be observed by how it reacts with a beam of light. Quartz also channels universal energy. Since thoughts are a form of energy, the crystals have a positive effect on them as well. Because it amplifies energy, it is extremely beneficial for manifesting, healing, and meditation. Its balancing ability helps it to harmonize and balance our environment.

The lore of quartz is that it is a stone of light and clarity that clears away negative energy. It can be used to purify and clarify on the spiritual, mental, and physical planes.
